With thatched cottages, quiet lanes, walks along the valley’s “chalk stream”, an ancient church and welcoming pub serving excellent food and ales, village green and children’s play area, the village makes a perfect base for walking and exploring this beautiful part of West Dorset.

The market towns of Dorchester and Sherborne are 8 and 12 miles away respectively. With the Georgian seaside resort of Weymouth, and the newly fashionable Bridport on hand in around a half hour's drive, and with great stretches of the World Heritage Jurassic coastline, country  villages and walks, National Trust properties and Museums all within a comfortable car journey, there is something here for everyone, at any time of year.

We look forward to welcoming you.  Well behaved pets welcome.
